Take That-LMK-002968.jpg Take That star Mark Owen has checked into a rehabilitation clinic, just days after confessing to a decade-long drinking problem.

The pop star stunned fans this week when he owned up to a string of 10 affairs behind his wife's back, admitting: "I have been an idiot, a d--khead. All of the above and more. I have been living with the guilt. It has always been there - you carry it around with you."

Owen also revealed he has been nursing a secret alcohol habit, which began in 1996 after the Back For Good hitmakers split.

He said, "I have had issues for a long time. I've drunk for the last 10 years and it got to a bad point."

And the 38-year-old singer entered a rehab centre on Friday in a bid to address his problems after his actress wife Emma Ferguson issued him an ultimatum.

He tells Britain's The Sun, "I need to sort things out. I'm going into rehab properly. I've made my bed and I've got to lie in it. I was very lucky to marry Emma because I've not always been a great partner."
