Drake Wants To Play President Obama Onscreen
July 21st, 2010 12:00pm EDT
Rapper Drake is eager to return to his acting roots to portray President Barack Obama on the big screen.
The Best I Ever Had hit-maker rose to fame as a teen star in his native Canada on the TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation before taking the hip-hop industry by storm last year.
However, Drake admits he's keeping an eye on potential acting projects documenting the life of America's first black president - because he's been studying Obama's behavior and speech patterns from the news.
He tells Paper magazine, "I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him. That's the goal Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice."
