Billy Bob Thornton: 'Don't Put Me Out To Pasture'
Billy Bob Thornton has no plans to quit Hollywood because he would "go crazy" if he was forced to endure a quiet life of retirement.
The Monster's Ball star, 55, refuses to give up his career after 30 years of acting and insists relaxing on a sunny beach is his worst nightmare.
He tells Britain's Celebs on Sunday magazine, "I think about giving up probably three or four times a day but no, not yet. Don't put me out to pasture. Robert Duvall is not retired! Sometimes I get fed up, but I couldn't retire - I can't even go on a vacation. I would go crazy. The idea of going to the Bahamas and just sitting there listening to the water would drive me out of my mind. I don't understand why people want to do that. I don't get it."
And the hard-working actor admits he can't remember the last time he booked a vacation, adding: "My girlfriend gets mad at me all the time because I won't go. She likes to go on vacations and the kids all like vacations. JD, my bandmate in The Boxmasters, just got married and he's gone to some damn island for a week."
"I've been sitting at home in my recording studio waiting for him to get back and I'm thinking, 'How is he doing this? What is he going to do down there?'"
