Tyler Perry Generous director Tyler Perry has gifted an elderly woman with a brand new house after hearing how her family home was burned to the ground shortly before Christmas.

Rosa Lee Ransby, 88, and her seven relatives were living in a rural Georgia town when a house fire broke out in December, destroying all of their belongings.

Perry learned all about the tragic turn of events and was so moved by their plight, he pledged to help the family rebuild, reports the Associated Press.

And the filmmaker followed through on that promise on Friday, when he presented Ransby the keys to a brand new, fully-furnished, four-bedroom house.
