Jason Aldean Leads 2011 CMT Music Awards With Four Nominations
Justin Bieber's foray into country music has paid off - his collaboration with Rascal Flatts has earned him a top nomination at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.
The stars' duet, That Should Be Me, will compete for Collaborative Video of the Year - going up against multiple nominee Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson's track, Don't You Wanna Stay.
Aldean leads all nominations with four mentions - three for his hit song My Kinda Party, which will battle for Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year and Best Web Video of the Year.
Keith Urban (Without You) and Blake Shelton (Who Are You When I'm Not Looking) will fight Aldean for Male Video of the Year, while Taylor Swift (Mine), Carrie Underwood (Undo It) and Miranda Lambert (The House That Built Me) are all up for the female equivalent.
Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and the Zac Brown Band have all been nominated for Group Video of the Year.
Bieber isn't the only surprise name on the shortlist for the CMT Music Awards - British soul star Adele has scored praise for her duet with Darius Rucker on a cover of Lady Antebellum's Need You Now and will compete for the CMT Performance of the Year prize.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee on June 8th.
