Katy Perry's Family Feuding Over Mom's Memoir
Katy Perry has fallen out with her mother over a revealing new memoir - the singer's dad admits there is "quite a bit of tension" in the family.
The I Kissed A Girl hit-maker's parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, are devout Christian evangelists and her mom has gone public with her disapproval of her daughter's risqué lyrics and sexy onstage costumes in the tome.
Recalling an incident backstage at one of the star's shows, Hudson writes, "Katy stepped out from behind the changing doors in a tiny risqué costume. No mother wants to see the top of her daughter's boobs..."
Hudson goes on to discuss how she feels the singer has betrayed her Christian roots, adding, "I recognized the psalmist gift in her performance. Yet she sang out, 'I kissed a girl, and I liked it,' while thousands joined her. One part of my heart soared... the other part broke for the thousands of hungry souls being fed something that didn't nourish their spirit, but fed their flesh."
Hudson has since defended her memoir, insisting it's not as sensational as the media has made it out to be, saying, "I'm writing a Christian faith book, not some kind of tell all book about my daughter."
However, the honest accounts in the book have already damaged her relationship with Perry and her dad Keith is desperate to put an end to the family feud.
He tells Star magazine, "The situation has caused quite a bit of tension. I don't want that anymore."
