Lauren Conrad: 'It's Easier To Launch The Line Without MTV'
Lauren Conrad has no regrets after her latest reality TV project failed to make it on air, because she is convinced her new fashion line will be more successful without fly-on-the-wall coverage.
The 25 year old found fame in reality TV show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, before going on to star in The Hills. She is now a successful author and is preparing to move into fashion with her clothing range, Paper Crown. Conrad struck a deal to film her fashion project for MTV, but bosses at the network dropped the show after shooting wrapped.
However, Conrad is not bitter about the snub, as she believes her business will be better off without small screen coverage.
She tells Lucky magazine, "It's easier to launch the line without MTV. A lot of people in fashion don't want to be linked with anything that has to do with reality TV. Showrooms were turning us down."
Conrad also believes the show was cancelled because the subject matter was not dramatic enough, adding, "It's difficult to compete with all the Jersey Shore-type shows... besides, there weren't any scenes of me getting drunk or fighting, so what's the point?"
