Silent black and white movie "The Artist" has romped ahead of the Oscars favorites with top critics predicting Michel Hazanavicius' film will win Best Picture next February.
Nineteen of the 30 GoldDerby.com 'Oscarologists', who follow the race to the Academy Awards, have tipped "The Artist" for glory - a month after 11 of the then-26 experts picked George Clooney's "The Descendants" to win.
As such, "The Artist" is a 17/10 favorite, while "The Descendant" now lags behind in second place with 4/1 odds.
Steven Spielberg's "The War Horse" is third, while "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" and "Moneyball" round out the current top five.
Also making the top 10 list: "The Help," "Midnight in Paris," "Hugo," "Tree of Life" and "Girl with Dragon Tattoo."
