Jessica Chastain To Be Honored At 2012 Palm Springs Film Festival

Jessica Chastain Jessica Chastain has been selected to receive a top prize at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival in California.

The actress will be presented with the Spotlight Award in recognition of her performances in a string of 2011 movies including The Help, The Tree of Life, Take Shelter and The Debt.

Festival chairman Harold Matzner says, "Through a series of virtuoso performances, Jessica Chastain has established herself as one of the cinema's most versatile and most sought after young actresses."

Composer Howard Shore will take home the Frederick Loewe Music Award for his work on the score for Martin Scorsese's Hugo.

Matzner adds, "Howard Shore is a master composer who has consistently delighted audiences of the more than 80 films that he has scored."

Chastain and Shore will be handed their prizes at the festival's awards gala on January 7th at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
