'Safe House' Wins Weekend Box Office

Safe House Denzel Washington's Safe House edged out a win at the box office over the weekend after raking in $24 million.

The crime thriller knocked romantic comedy "The Vow" off the top spot, which this week came in a close second with earnings of $23.6 million (£14.8 million)

Premiering at three was Nicolas Cage's "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" with takings of $22 million.

Dropping to number four was adventure family film "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" ($20.1 million) and entering at five was Reese Witherspoon's "This Means War" ($17.6 million).
