Director Oliver Stone's son is eager to help Americans understand more about the Muslim faith after converting to Islam.
Sean Stone, who has appeared in several of his father's films, underwent a conversion ceremony in Iran earlier this month.
The 27 year old has confirmed his Oscar-winning dad is happy with his decision to become a Muslim, but admitted he feared members of Hollywood would be reluctant to work with him because of his new-found faith.
Sean said, "Having people within the film industry express a reluctance to work with me now that I have said a simple prayer... I am sure I have (angered) some powerful people...."
However, the actor-turned-filmmaker is eager to use his conversion to help U.S. citizens fearful of the religion better understand its real meaning.
He says, "It's a mistake to believe that Islam is antagonistic towards Judaism and Christianity. What we need is to understand each other's beliefs and to establish dialogue.
"The most important thing is I hope I can help Americans to understand the true nature of Islam. I feel good when I enter a mosque. I believe there is only one God and with this view it is not important whether you are Muslim, Christian or Jewish.
