Anti-Gay Protestors Picket Radiohead Concert

March 13th, 2012 9:09am EDT

Radiohead Radiohead became the latest act to be targeted by members of religious extremist group the Westboro Baptist Church when their show in Missouri was picketed on Saturday.

The anti-gay protest greeted the British band as they arrived at the venue in Kansas City - and became a talking point on the organization's website.

One post read, "God is undoing this nation and effecting (sic) all of your lives, with the moth that quietly eats the very fabric of your national garment. Radiohead is just such an event. Freak monkey's (sic) with mediocre tunes keeps you busy and focused by lightness."

Radiohead found the backlash a little bemusing and amusing, with the band's producer Nigel Godrich tweeting that the protest was the "highlight" of the U.S. tour.
