Brooke Mueller Avoids Jail Time In Drug Charge

Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller has avoided prison time in her felony drug possession case after landing a plea deal from Colorado prosecutors.
The former real estate agent was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession and third degree assault in December after cops were called to investigate allegations she was embroiled in a scuffle in a nightclub in Aspen.
Mueller, who checked herself into a rehab center to tackle her drug issues after being released on $11,000 bail, was also charged with the more serious count of cocaine possession with intent to distribute.
However, her lawyer Yale Galanter has since managed to get Mueller off the hook - under the terms of the deal, the star will plead guilty to possessing less than four grams of cocaine and will be placed on 12 months probation in exchange for authorities dropping the two felonies.
The case will then be transferred to her home state of California and if she stays out of trouble for the next year, the charge will be wiped from her record.
Nonetheless, Mueller must continue to undergo treatment for substance abuse in Los Angeles and must pay for court costs, according to TMZ.com.
The plea deal will be formally approved by a Colorado judge during a court hearing on Monday.
