Noah Wyle's Family 'Really Proud' Of His Arrest

Noah Wyle has branded his arrest at a protest on Monday "slightly surreal" and revealed his children are "really proud" of him for taking part in the demonstration.
The former ER star was led away in handcuffs after joining a demonstration on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to protest against plans to cut America's Medicaid program. The proposals have sparked fears many elderly and disabled people will lose at-home medical care and be forced into nursing facilities.
Wyle was among more than 100 campaigners who were detained by police at the protest, and he admits his first ever arrest was a "slightly surreal" experience, telling the Associated Press, "As soon as everybody saw me being led away, they let up a big whooping cheer, which made me feel really good..."
Wyle warned his estranged wife, Tracy, and their children, nine-year-old son Owen, and six-year-old daughter Auden, that he might be arrested during the day, but admits they were happy to see him fight for a cause: "I think they're really proud of the old man right now."
The actor's arrest comes just weeks after his former ER co-star George Clooney was also detained by police during a demonstration outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C. and Wyle jokes, "(I'll) let George focus on the international; I'll deal with the small domestic issues."
