Hilary Duff New mom Hilary Duff has opened up about her surprisingly "easy" delivery, joking her whole family came to the hospital with snacks and soda in hand to watch the "show."

The singer/actress welcomed her first child, a son named Luca Cruz, with hockey star husband Mike Comrie on March 20 and Duff admits her journey to becoming a mother has been an "amazing ride".

In an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," she said, "It (the birthing process) was very easy. I went into labor at about one in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about three hours of walking up and down my hallway. Then I'm like, 'OK, it's time to go. Let's go now.' We got in the car and drove to the hospital and that was it."

But the star didn't give birth straight away - and after nine hours in hospital, her relatives began to grow restless.

She continues, "My family gets there and we wait all day and everyone is hungry. We're Southern and from Texas and my mom and my sister (actress/singer Haylie Duff) actually went down to the food court area.

"All of the sudden the doors bust open and my sister and my mom come flying in. They're like, 'We got barbecue chips and root beer, guys.' I (said), 'What? I'm pushing!' They were just arriving for a show with their chips and their root beer."

The interview aired on Friday, two days before Duff celebrates her first Mother's Day on Sunday.
