Michael Caine Dismisses 'Locked In Attic' Story
Michael Caine is baffled by reports suggesting he was locked in an attic overnight after falling asleep on the set of his new film, insisting the odd story is "completely untrue".
The Batman Begins star was reportedly caught out after taking a nap in a makeshift dressing room while shooting the thriller Now You See Me in the Old Loews theater in New Orleans.
A supposed source told Britain's Daily Mirror, "When Michael eventually woke up, he realized he was locked in. His mobile phone was in his trailer and there was no electricity in the attic, meaning he couldn't see a thing. It was pitch black. Michael started shouting for help but no one could hear him.
"It was only when an on-set carpenter who had left his tools in the theater went to do some maintenance work the following morning that he was discovered. It's fair to say Michael wasn't in the best of moods - although he was grateful to have been found."
But Caine has dismissed the tabloid story and is baffled at how such fabricated nonsense make it into the papers.
In a series of Twitter.com posts on Thursday, he writes, "Just read another story about me being locked in attick (sic), completely false.
"Do not believe everything you read. Do not know where this story came from. Everyone who has published this story has been tricked. Its completely untrue."
