Tia Mowry Not Returning To 'The Game'

Tia Mowry Actress Tia Mowry is leaving the hit TV series The Game.

Mowry has played the lead role since the series premiered in 2006, but fans began to speculate about her future involvement in the show after her character, Dr. Melanie Barnett Davis, was left out of Tuesday's episode.

On Wednesday, Mowry took to her Twitter.com page to confirm she will not appear in the upcoming sixth season.

She writes, "Just wanted to let all my fans know that I will not be returning to The Game for season 6. It was an incredible run and I had lots of fun along the way.

"I am looking forward to my upcoming projects... the release of my book Oh Baby!, Season 2 of (reality show Tia & Tamera) premiering in June, and my movie (The Mistle-Tones) coming out in December... more to come!"

An inside source tells The Hollywood Reporter the former Sister, Sister star's departure was a mutual decision between Mowry and bosses at the BET network.
