A$AP Rocky Arrested In NYC Following Fight With Photographers

A$AP Rocky Rapper A$AP Rocky has reportedly been arrested after a street showdown with two amateur photographers.

The hip-hop star, real name Rakim Mayers, was taken into custody in New York City on Thursday.

According to, Mayers was embroiled in "a verbal dispute with someone in downtown Manhattan" when two male bystanders began taking photos of the heated exchange.

A scuffle then erupted between the 23-year-old rapper and the snappers, who suffered cuts and bruises in the fight. One of the alleged victims is said to have been taken to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Mayers, who recently portrayed President John F. Kennedy in Lana Del Rey's National Anthem music video, was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, although it is unclear what he is accused of stealing.
