August 1st, 2012 11:52pm EDT

Prometheus Filmmaker Ridley Scott is reuniting with his Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace for a second installment of the sci-fi movie.

The Alien prequel proved to be a big hit upon its release earlier this summer and studio executives at 20th Century Fox are now pressing ahead with plans for a follow up.

Scott will return to direct, while Fassbender and Rapace have already signed up to reprise their roles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Studio boss Emma Watts says, "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it."
