10 Stars Who Have Been Injured On The Job

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man Early this week, production was halted on the set of "Iron Man 3" after its star Robert Downey Jr. injured his ankle while performing a stunt. Marvel Studios confirmed this Thursday, saying there will be a short delay in film production. With all the things going on in movie sets and concert stages, being a star can sometimes be hazardous. Here are 10 celebrities who were hurt while performing their jobs.

During the filming of "The Green Lantern," Ryan Reynolds separated his shoulder and he popped it back into place during the scene. He told People magazine, "My last injury was a separated shoulder on 'Green Lantern.' I just popped it right back in. Lamest superpower of all time.”

Earlier this month actress Halle Berry was hospitalized while filming scenes for her upcoming project "The Hive." She checked out healthy and production continued as scheduled.

Back in 2007, Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman suffered injury while filming "The Invasion," when a vehicle hit a lamp post, sending her and several others to the hospital. They were all later released that day.

In 2009, Bret Michaels was performing at the Tony Awards when he was hit in the head by a set piece. He suffered a fractured nose and busted lip.

Back in August of 2009, Steven Tyler fell off stage during an Aerosmith show in South Dakota. Breaking his collarbone, the band was forced to cancel several tour dates.

Brad Pitt was buff and in shape for his role as Achilles in 2004's "Troy" when he tore his Achilles tendon (irony). The film was forced to stop production for 10 weeks.

On a world tour with his U2 bandmates in 2010, Bono had to undergo back surgery for and injury sustained during tour preparation. The bands 360 tour was postponed till the following year while Bono's back healed.

In June of 2011, Lady Gaga was injured at a concert being held in New Zealand. She was struck in the head by a pole as stage hand was removing a prop during the show. Gaga suffered a concussion but finished the show.

Just a month ago, actress Kristin Chenoweth was hurt on set filming "The Good Wife," when a wind gust blew over some lighting, striking the actress. She is currently wearing a neck brace and has begun physical therapy for her injury.

During shooting of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," Johnny Depp was laid up for three weeks following a back injury while filming a stunt in the film.
