Best & Worst Celebrity Wardrobe Malfunctions
October 19th, 2012 11:05am EDT
It's a celebrity's worst nightmare - a wardrobe malfunction (although we're pretty sure some of them plan it). The phrase skyrocketed in popularity in 2004 after Janet Jackson performed at the Super Bowl with Justin Timberlake and he tore open her top, exposing her right breast while singing, "Gonna have you naked by the end of this song."
Savvy stars do whatever they can to avoid embarrassing skin-revealing incidents, but inevitably a dress seam rips, a skirt blows up due to the wind, or a nipple peeks out of a tight gown.
Elizabeth Hurley, above, showed up to the Love Ball in London, England, two years ago wearing a see-through gray sari. We're not sure if the look was intentional or not, but you could definitely see her nipple underneath the sheer ensemble.

Hayden Panettiere attended the Golden Globes HBO after party in 2011 wearing a blue dress that showed off just a little more than she intended - her nipple cover. We give her credit for trying to avoid showing off her nipple, but her plan backfired. The same thing happened to Emma Watson earlier this year.
Sofia Vergara had a pretty serious wardrobe malfunction when the back of her sequined dress split apart just 20 minutes before she was due on stage at the 2012 Emmy Awards. She tweeted a photo of her thong and butt cheeks to her followers.
Taylor Swift suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction during a gig in 2011 when her dress blew up to reveal her butt (at least she was wearing underwear). Check out the wardrobe malfunction at the 1 minute and 8 second mark:

Earlier this month Kim Kardashian stepped out for an early dinner with boyfriend Kaney West in Miami wearing a sheer grey skirt that revealed she wasn't wearing any underwear. The question is: was this intentional?
Jennifer Lopez's right nipple popped out of her silver sequined Zuhair Murad bodysuit while she was on stage in Bologna, Italy, this month. She also had a similar issue earlier this year at the Academy Awards show. Ironically, she was wearing a Zuhair Murad dress.
Kelly Rowland performed at Club 4Sixty6 last year when her black bra-like top rode up and her breasts were exposed.
AnnaLynne McCord accidentally tweeted fans and followers a topless photo in January. McCord uploaded the over-the-shoulder image and failed to realize the picture actually showed a side view of her bare breast and nipple. The actress later removed the photo and replaced it with a cropped version (seen below).
Nancy Grace had a little too much "movement" during her quickstep on "Dancing With The Stars" last year, and her top began to give way. Watch the video below.

Nicki Minaj gave TV viewers an eyeful when she performed live in New York's famed Central Park last summer after accidentally exposing her breast.
In March Adrienne Bailon wore what looked like a normal dress from the front, but in reality it was a sheer bodysuit bottom with some sort of "puff" piece coming out of the front. The design lead to some awkward moments for the actress, as the day was fairly breezy, and she didn't wear anything under the sheer section of the outfit.
Photographers got a little more than they expected when Amy Winehouse revealed a little nipple as she and boyfriend Reg Traviss arrived at Stables Market in 2010.
Mariah Carey wore an unfortunate looking, too-tight bodysuit that showed off her cameltoe while performing in May.
Last fall Tori Spelling's husband accidentally tweeted a photo of his son featuring his topless wife in the background.
