Coal In Their Stockings: The 10 Least Influential Celebrities Of 2012

December 25th, 2012 4:01pm EST

Chris Brown and Rihanna It's the end of the year, and while Barbara Walters is talking about the 10 Most Fascinating People Of 2012 and Time magazine is putting out their annual list of a hundred 'most influential' people (most of whom have names we can't pronounce), we decided to put together our own list of the 10 people we think who have contributed to society in a negative way this year.

We know, we know, the holidays are a time for celebration! But there are those out there who find the time to be depressing and miserable, so we hope this list lifts their spirits and gives them a little laugh; because, judging by what you're about to read, things for them could be much worse.

So who's on Santa's "Naughty List" and should expect a big, fat lump of coal in their stocking on Christmas?

Normally we dont put our lists in any particular order, but these definitely go from least least influential to most least influential....

Once a cheater, always a cheater -- right? Well, this summer Kristen Stewart 'fessed up to having an affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders behind boyfriend Robert Pattinson's back. The two were even caught on film kissing.

Comedian Will Ferrell called her a "trampire" on Conan O'Brien's show, and t-shirts were even produced. Pattinson ultimately took her back -- or was that just to help promote the final chapter in their vampire saga Twilight?

Lance Armstrong is in a bit of a (coal) grey area on this list. Although it hasn't really been proven, the seven-time Tour de France champ was accused of cheating by taking performance enhancing substances. The US Anti-Doping Administration hasn't proven that Armstrong cheated, but Armstrong dropped his defense against them and was stripped of all of his titles.

"There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, 'Enough is enough.' For me, that time is now," he said. "I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999… The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense."

So there's no proof that Tour de Lance is a cheatstrong; however giving in without putting up much of a fight could point to one thing: guilt.

But now we'll never know -- unless Santa brings him coal.

Seems like every time you turned around this year LeAnn Rimes was either seeking attention by tweeting pictures of herself in a bikini or in the midst of a stepmom vs mom war with Real Housewife Brandi Glanville. It all started in 2009 when LeAnn cheated on husband Dean Sheremet with Glanville's husband, actor Eddie Cibrian. The couple met on the set of a TV movie and began an affair, ultimately leading to the destruction of both their marriages. They married in April 2011.

She also found herself in rehab for anxiety and stress, and was alleged to have an eating disorder.

And earlier this month she opened up about the affair with Cibrian, saying it was basically inevitable and implying that their marriages at the time were "already broken."

Unfortunately for LeAnn, she's become the 'bad guy' in the whole situation, having numerous run-ins with Glanville (especially on Twitter) over the care of Glanville & Cibrian's two sons.

Cibrian, despite cheating on Glanville and ultimately marrying Rimes, has pretty much flown under the radar unscathed while Rimes has gotten the brunt of all the negative attention.

In fact, it's a good bet that he got coal in his stocking this morning also.

If there's a someone who could give Lindsay Lohan a run for her money in the train-wreck department it's Amanda Bynes -- but still, after a couple of hit-and-runs, a DUI, and all sorts of crazy behavior in 2012, Bynes still comes up well short of Lohan's "achievements".

But when Lindsay' and her mom, Dina, offer advice, you kow there's something very wrong.

Most of Amanda's infractions came on the road this year, including a DUI in April which she heavily fought, even asking President Obama to fire the cop who arrested her. She wasn't pulled over for the crime, though, she went straight to the police -- as in, straight into his bumper.

She faced two hit-and-run charges, was in a third accident, had her license suspended (and still drove -- this time with no headlights), and checked into rehab.

Next she went into a Gym and got kicked out for talking to herself and acting strange. Her agent, publicist and lawyers all quit on her, too.

Jason Russell is a guy who may have thought he was doing some good, but in the end he went a little crazy -- and that's what he'll be remembered for in 2012. Russell's highly criticized 30-minute documentary "KONY 2012" was released on March 5th and spread across the internet like wildfire. The video was meant to raise awareness of Ugandan guerrilla leader Joseph Kony, who has been accused of abducting children and turning them into sex slaves and child soldiers for his Lord's Resistance Army. Presidents Bush and Obama had signed directives in 2008 and 2010, respectively, to help Uganda track down and capture Kony, but he has been able to elude capture.

While millions were sharing the film, posted to YouTube, with friends on their Facebook pages and Twitter feeds, others were calling out its producers, Invisible Children, as a questionable charitable organization. A reported 68% of the donations to the non-profit were used to pay staff salaries, travel expenses and film production; and many also accused the film of being nothing more than "slacktivism" -- the belief that sharing something via social media would help solve the problem.

Russell was arrested less than two weeks after the film was released for public drunkenness and masturbation after going batsh*t crazy because of all the criticism.

A second, 20-minute follow-up called KONY 2012 Part II was released a month after the first in order to address critics of the first film and share more information about Invisible Children. Russell wasn't included in the film, which didn't have nearly the viral push the first one did, so many people never even realized a second one was made.

Miley Cyrus, who turned 20 last month, wants everyone to know that she's all grown up now and not that cute little Hannah Montana that their kids grew up with on the Disney Channel.

In fact, she's so grown up that once a month she gets a new tattoo and posts photos of it to her Twitter pages; pole dances; and shows up to events showing off as much skin as possible. She's also starring in music videos with porn stars and made an appearance on remedial sex sitcom Two And A Half Men wearing a bikini and lingerie.

If you want your daughters to show off their cleavage and hit the tattoo parlor every six weeks for some fresh ink, then by all means Miley's the perfect role model.

Madonna may have the top grossing tour of 2012 -- but not without any controversy (most of it tasteless).

First off, the singer showed images of a swastika superimposed over the forehead of a French politician during several of her shows; then she flashed fans at her Istanbul, Turkey concert (and then later said you don't have to show your nipples to be interesting); and paid the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy to close for the day so she could have it all to herself (shame on them for doing so).

Next she pulled out (prop) pistols and automatic rifles on stage just days after The Dark Knight Rises tragedy in Colorado (she then used the guns during her performance in Colorado!)

And did we mention that at 54 she's wearing cheerleader outfits on stage and French kissing her 25-year-old boyfriend?

Madge also recently sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres and brought a mask with her. She said that if Ellen were to ask any questions she felt uncomfortable with or didn't want to answer she would hold up the mask in front of her face -- because it's "more theatrical" than just saying "I don't want to answer that". Conceited much?

And lastly, last Wednesday during the soundcheck prior to her [outdoor stadium] show in Chile, she pitched a fit over numerous fans in the crowd who were smoking cigarettes.

"There are people smoking right now," she said to the crowd. "No smoking. If you're going to smoke cigarettes, I'm not doing a show."

Perhaps Elton John said it best when he called her a "fairground stripper" whose "career is over."

Isn't she a little old for this s--t?

Katt Williams had high hopes of being on the "nice list" for a change and flew under the radar up until October, when he pulled a gun on actor Faizon Love.

Things went downhill from there fairly quickly, landing Williams a spot close to the top of coal heap.

Williams punched his former assistand, who filed a lawsuit against him for $5 million because he received a "serious injury" from the assault.

He was arrested in Oakland in November for assaulting an 18-year-old with a bottle on his tour bus; arrested in Seattle earlier this month after getting into a dispute over a performance he never showed up for; and arrested again on December 7th on a a warrant for his arrest that as filed in November over a police chase in which he rode his three-wheeled motorcycle on a sidewalk and failed to pull over.

But that's not all... after the three wheeler incident Williams stopped by his local Target store and slapped an employee (something he claimed last week that he did because the clerk called him the "N" word.

And last, but probably not least, last week Williams hit a member of the audience at one of his stand-up gigs with his microphone for trying to record the show (the recipient of the microphone beatdown has since filed a lawsuit for a quarter of a million dollars, claiming he suffered a concussion from the incident (overly litigious gets you on the naughty list also).

Rihanna, like Miley Cyrus, found it necessary to update the world every time she got some new ink. But that's not why she made the naughty list.

The Bajan beauty caused lots of controversy when she started hanging out with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown again, three years after he brutally beat her. The two first collaborated on a single together and then started showing up in a lot of the same places. They were spotted in several clubs getting close with each other over the last few months; and RiRi's dad even said on a couple of separate occasions that he would love it if the two started dating again.

The singer also loves to post pictures to her Instagram and Twitter pages, and most of them aren't exactly the kind of stuff you'd want your kids to see. She's also got a potty mouth and litters those pages with "f-bombs" and plenty of instances and iterations of the "N word".

Her latest thing has been posting nearly nude photos, whether topless or bottomless; advocating marijuana smoking. The artwork for her single "Diamonds" is her hands filling a rolling paper with a bunch of diamonds as if she was rolling a joint.

She's also been hanging out at strip clubs and posting photos of herself getting lapdances.

And did we mention her newest fragrance is called "Nude"?

Earlier this year country singer Miranda Lambert called out Chris Brown for being at this year's Grammy Awards, saying the R&B singer, who performed during the show, had "no place" there.

Her comments started a short war with Brown over Twitter, and he responded several times only to look pretty bad in doing so.

Next, he "supported" Trayvon Martin by using the teen's death as a platform to sell more of his signature line of hoodies.

Then came the big brawl. The entourages of Brown and rapper Drake turned a New York City nightclub upside-down, reportedly over comments Drake made over Brown's ex, Rihanna.

Brown seemed to always get himself into hot water with his mouth in 2012 also.

After rapper Frank Ocean came out as being gay, Brown stirred the pot by saying "Man, no homo" when he was interviewed while leaving a nightclub in France.

In September, photos of Brown's latest tattoo resembled a photograph of Rihanna taken by police after she was beaten. Both Brown and the tattoo artist claimed the resemblance was actually that of a Mexican Sugar Skull (that looks nothing like a Mexican Sugar Skull).

Chris also revealed that he (somehow) got a medicinal marijuana card (glaucoma?). Next he dumped girlfriend Karrueche Tran so he could hook up with Rihanna again, after which he showed up to her Halloween party with his entourage dressed very tastelessly as a group of Middle Eastern terrorists.

Lastly, what is there NOT to say about Lindsay Lohan? You've obviously been living under a rock if you can't figure out why she's #1 on this list.
