Whitesnake Drummer Leaves Band Following Injury
Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy has quit the group less than a week after breaking his collarbone in a mountain bike accident.
The rocker, who has also worked with Billy Idol, Ozzy Osbourne and Foreigner, was forced to bow out of a Las Vegas concert with his band The Moby Dicks on New Year's Eve after severely injuring his clavicle.
And it appears his recovery time has prompted Tichy to consider his future as the man behind Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale.
He reveals he wants to focus on his supergroup Something Unto Nothing, which he formed with Canadian rocker Sass Jordan and his now-former Whitesnake bandmate Michael Devin.
Coverdale says, "We are truly sad to see him go, but, we fully support the pursuit of his ambitions and sincerely wish him well. His fearless drumming brought a relentless driving edge and to our music that we fully embraced. Good luck, Brian... May the S.U.N. shine brightly on you."
The singer and his band are now on the search for a new drummer.
