Director Ang Lee is moving on from his awards season success with Life Of Pi to make his TV directorial debut.
Lee's adventure drama was the surprise toast of the Oscars last month after scooping four prizes, but the moviemaker is already looking to his next project.
He has signed up to direct the pilot episode of FX's Tyrant, which tells the story of an American family pulled into a Middle Eastern conflict.
FX president John Landgraf says, "Ang Lee has demonstrated time and again an ability to present characters with such depth and specificity that they reveal the universal human condition. No one could be a more perfect film maker to bring... Tyrant to indelible life."
Production on the show is slated to begin this summer.
