Channing Tatum's 'X-Men' Spinoff Deal Official

Despite reports to the contrary earlier this week, Channing Tatum has officially signed on to star as Gambit in the planned "X-Men" spinoff film.

The actor was reported to have backed out of the deal after hitting a snag in negotiations with Fox, but according to The Hollywood Reporter a deal is now in place and Tatum has signe on for "a few years" as both the film's star and producer.

Tatum will most likely appear in several potential sequels -- possibly even next summer's "X-Men: Apocalypse -- as the movie studio sees the character as being one of the biggest in the mutant series, like ...

Meghan Trainor is writing a song for the upcoming "Peanuts" movie.

The singer is writing a tune called "Better When I'm Dancin'".

"They wanted a song about confidence and knew I was good at writing those. I feel better when I'm onstage dancing and having fun, so I wrote about that!" she remarked to People Magazine.

Here's a little proof that not all of the decisions George Lucas made with his "Star Wars" prequel trilogy were bad -- Michael Jackson had actually hoped to land the role of the alien Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
