Matthew McConaughey In talks To Play Villain In 'The Stand'
Matthew McConaughey, who was lauded for his work on HBO's "True Detective," is in talks to star in a TV adaptation of Stephen King's "The Stand."

King wrote "The Stand" in 1978. It chronicles the battle between good and evil after a deadly virus kills most of the world's population.

McConaughey would play chief antagonist Randall Flagg in the post-apocalyptic thriller. Flagg has supernatural powers and lives and rules in the ruins of Las Vegas.

"The Stand" was previously made into a TV mini-series in 1994. The update will be directed by Josh Boone ("The Fault in Our Stars").

'The Mindy Project' Recap: Blind Dates, Double Dates, Online Dates

November 26th, 2014 11:02am EST
The Mindy Project
What’s most impressive about tonight’s episode is how tightly plotted it is and how uniform the themes are. Usually, there is a clearly an A plot and a B plot and maybe a few little one liners for the cast. Tonight’s plots are interweaved together, showcasing these cartoonish characters as being more of family than anything else.

Annette is overbearing, over involved and judgmental, and Mindy does a great job of putting up with her. But when she interrupts her erotica bath with Danny, it’s another final straw that makes Mindy decide to take action. That means setting Annette up with a very...

'New Girl' Recap: Bangsgiving

November 26th, 2014 9:15am EST
New Girl
The best sitcom episode concepts are ones that result in stories that seemingly write themselves. A few weeks after “Background Check,” the triumphant high point of Season 4, “New Girl” followed its own lead by keeping the majority of Thanksgiving in the loft (or “Bangsgiving,” as Schmidt insisted). The holidays and being confined to one space are classic situations that lead to people making significant revelations. And Schmidt’s plan to have everyone bring a date for someone else to dinner was a recipe for amplifying that formula many times over.

Schmidt may have wanted the matchmaker...

'The Voice': Top 10 Eliminations Put One Coach Against The Ropes
Tuesday night was another elimination night on The Voice - and the results were incredibly interesting.

As the show narrowed its roster from ten to eight - with just three weeks left in season seven - one coach is now down to their final artist (and it's not the coach you might suspect), while the reveal of America's vote proved to be telling for two singers.

But the eliminations were also blunted by the reminder that the pair of performers let go will remain eligible for the "wild card" finalist spot previously revealed last week.

It was three-time champion Blake Shelton who got the wor...

‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Recap: It’s All About Brandi

November 26th, 2014 8:52am EST
BG
If I’d known that there was going to be so much focus on the unpoised, tacky and desperate Brandi Glanville, I wouldn’t have watched.

I have to say, I was excited about this season. Not only was the cast infused with new blood (Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson, who we have still yet to meet), but I love watching what all their money can buy. Unlike the other housewife franchises, where the women who are indeed comfortable and live well but are a far cry from the super rich socialites they claim to be, the ladies of BH have got stacks and seeing them spend it is as mesmerizing as watching a m...

'Awkward' 5 OMG Moments From Season 4 Finale
Is your jaw still on the floor? Mine is too, alongside my TV remote that I threw at my 35” (don’t worry, I throw like a girl) after “Awkward” aired its final scene. I think I speak for everyone when I write this: can Jatty happen, already. Please “Awkward” writers’ with sugar on top? Other than Jatty’s status still stalled, “Awkward’s” season 4 finale was jam packed with OMG, WTF and No Way moments and I list Every. Single. Shocker. So, without further ado below are the five cliffhangers from “Sprang Break, Pt. 2) that you’ll be obsessing over till season 5.

'The Flash' Review: Flash No More?

November 26th, 2014 7:38am EST
The Flash
"Power Outage" could have lived and died as an entirely forgettable outing for the Scarlet Speedster. Oh look, another metahuman, bent on wreaking some kind of particle-accelerator-adjacent havoc? Big whoop. That happens every week.

But "Power Outage" will live on- because it's not just one standalone "Flash" episode. It's three episodes, gleefully mushed together into a tangle of crazy that was kind of incredible.

Barry, you see, has gotten cocky. He's using his powers in broad daylight, in front of crowds of people, stopping muggers willy-nilly and crossing boundaries man was not meant ...
