Selena Quintanilla, simply known by her first name by her fans, was killed 20 years ago today.

The singer, who was murdered by her fan club's president Yolanda Saldivar on March 31, 1995, is being remembered around the globe on the anniversary of her death.

Selena's father, Abraham, told the Associated Press that the family is not involved in the rememberances, but appreciates the support.

American film, stage and TV actress Sally Forrest has died at age 86. The star, known for appearing in several films in the 1940s and 50s, died of cancer on March 15, according to her publicist.

Forrest was discovered by actress and filmmaker Ida Lupino. She kicked off her career in several MGM musicals as well as the films "Not Wanted," "While The City Sleeps," and "Excuse My Dust."

One of her classic films was 1955's "Son Of Sinbad," which featured several professional strippers.

Human remains believed to be those of former Food Network Star contestant Cristie Schoen Codd and her husband Joseph "J.T." Codd were found in a wood stove at the North Carolina home of the man charged with killing the couple and their unborn child earlier this month.

Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan revealed more information about the case, saying that police searched the home of the couple's neighbor, Robert Jason Owens, and found 11 knives, a saw blade and "debris" from the yard and from inside the wood stove, according to FOX Carolina.

A North Carolina man was arrested Monday evening and charged with murdering former Food Network Star contestant Cristie Schoen Codd, 38, and her husband Joseph "JT" Codd, 45, along with their unborn baby.

Actor Windell Middlebrooks' autopsy results have revealed that his cause of death was a pulmonary embolism.

Middlebrooks, a familiar face on television as a character actor and most notably as the "Miller High Life guy" in beer commercials, passed away earlier this week after he was found unsonscious in his San Fernando Valley home and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to, Middlebrooks weighed around 400 pounds, which contributed to his early death.

Middlebrooks was just 36-years-old.

Nine-time Emmy winner Sam Simon, co-creator of “The Simpsons,” died Sunday of colorectal cancer at his home in Los Angeles, his reps confirmed. He was 59 years old.

Renowned documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles died at his home in New York on Thursday. He was 88 years old.

Maysles and his brother David shot documentaries on Marlon Brandon, Orson Welles and The Beatles in the 1960s and 70s. They shot to fame after releasing "Gimme Shelter" in 1970, a film about the Rolling Stones' 1969 concert tour across America.
