Fall Out Boy Tops The Billboard 200: This Week In Music

January 29th, 2015 10:44am EST
Fall Out Boy
As unbelievable as it may be, for a second straight week, Taylor Swift is NOT sitting at number one. That statement is enough for all to utter a collective gasp of shock. Swift’s slippage is definitely Fall Out Boy’s gain, as the uniquely titled American Beauty/American Psycho scores FOB another number one album.

Fall Out Boy were previously in the penthouse for Infinity On High (2007) and Save Rock and Roll (2013). In sales alone, American Beauty/American Psycho outperformed their previous effort, delivering more robust January sales totals to the tune of 192,000 copies. Wonder wha...

Sly Stone
Sly Stone was awarded $5 million in a breach-of-contract suit that claimed his business partners and his own company cheated him out of royalties.

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury ruled in favor of the performer in a lawsuit against his ex-manager, attorney and production company.

"It's a good day for Sly, it's a good day for entertainers in general," said Stone's attorney Nicholas Hornberger.

Stone's lawyers stated in the lawsuit that the funk legend's career was over and he was destitute when Goldstein and Glenn Stone convinced him to become an employee of and co-owner of Even St. Pro...

5 Takeaways From Marilyn Manson’s 'The Pale Emperor'
What comes to mind when you hear the name Marilyn Manson? Crazy, satanic, atheistic, odd, left of center? All those adjectives are fair game for one of music’s most shocking musicians/bands, period. Manson had parents shivering back in the 1990s, and the controversies surrounding him during the period of the ’99 Columbine High School shootings will never be forgotten.

But that was then and this is now, and Manson’s shocking peak has been far behind him and his collective. That said there’s still that sense of fear, rebelliousness, and hellishness when one partakes of a Marilyn Manson...

Katy Perry
A new song by Katy Perry that's set to debut during her Super Bowl XLIX halftime show on Sunday has leaked online. It's only a joke though.

The new song hit YouTube on Sunday and has no title, just the headline "Katy Perry (Feat. Lenny Kravitz) Leaked Superbowl Song 2015" and a warning not to share the "leaked material."

The spoof isn't the first to hit YouTube prior to a Super Bowl.

Comedian Tim Heidecker ("Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie") posted the spoof to his YouTube page, and he's also responsible for...

January 27th, 2015 6:57pm EST
Phillip Phillips
Phillip Phillips is trying hard to get out of the contract he signed as part of a deal when he won the 11th season of "American Idol" in 2012.

The singer is demanding release from his recording, merchandising and management deals with 19 Entertainment because he wants more artistic freedom, and he claims that he's being "manipulated" by 19 Entertainment and wishes to void his contracts, which his lawyer called "oppressive" and "fatally conflicted" in the lawsuit he filed against the company.

"I am very grateful for the opportunities provided to me through appearing on ‘American Idol,'" Ph...

Ne-Yo Leads Albums To Check Out: This Week in Music
January 2015 has been a ‘louder’ musical month than anticipated. Music listeners have been bestowed more audio gifts than an usually available, so give a slow music industry credit. Hey, what would January 2K15 be without the “No Flex Zone” of hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd (Sremmlife), the “Uptown Funk” of Mark Ronson (Uptown Special), or “Lips Are Movin” courtesy of Meghan Trainor? Think about it!

This week isn’t nearly as dynamic as last week, but that doesn’t mean there are no interesting or notable albums to partake of. In a ‘slower’ week than last, R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is definit...

Taylor Swift Bikinis In Maui With Haim -- See Pics!

January 26th, 2015 11:24am EST
Taylor Swift and Haim
Kim Kardashian may have tried to "break the internet" back in November with a nude photoshoot for Paper magazine, but Taylor Swift is setting it on fire after posing in a skimpy bikini with pals Este, Danielle and Alana Haim of eponymous alt-pop group Haim.

The big story is that Taylor's tiny two-piece showed off her belly button -- a rarity for the singer.

"Greetings from Maui!" she captioned the shot of the four girls, followed by "Este-back ride" for a shot of the two girls in the water.

Despite having a rockin' bod, the "Shake It Off" singer is quite modest about showing it off. She'...

January 25th, 2015 2:00pm EST
Britney Spears
“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” Yep, that’s the sentiment of these songs that mark the ‘all time lows’ – the bottom of artist’s career as far as the objectionable, horrific song. No, it doesn’t mean that the album wasn’t successful (though in some instances, that’s the case), but these songs could be described as detritus (fun word) aka GARBAGE! Why couldn’t these musicians have avoided such a mess? Here are 10 head shakable moments for your listening pleasure worth scrutinizing.

1) Chris Brown, “Don’t Judge Me” (Fortune, 2012)
