In "Beyond The Lights," musician Noni Jean (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) is poised for greatness after winning a Grammy.

In a near-suicidal state brought on by the mounting scrutiny and expectation, she is saved by a police officer, Kaz (Nate Parker).

The two fall in love, despite pressure from each of their families to focus on their own careers.

Danny Glover and Minnie Driver also star.

"Beyond the Lights" was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song "Grateful" by Diane Warren.
