'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 1 Episode 6 Recap: A Dweeb In D-bag's Clothing

October 31st, 2014 10:43am EDT
How to get Away With Murder
After weeks of being left out of the murder club, tonight we finally get a glimpse into Asher Millstone, who is really just a complete dweeb in douchebag’s clothing. Asher provides some much serious comic relief on the show and is also perhaps the “purest” of the kids. Sure, he’s the poster boy for white privilege and wears it proudly on his button down-sweater combos, but there’s something also so sweet about his awfulness.

Asher may have grown up as a rich, entitled little Main Line brat (I’m assuming he grew up on the Main Line, which is a very rich and old area of Philadelphia suburbs)...

'Scandal' Review: Best Moments From 'An Innocent Man'

'Scandal' Review: Best Moments From 'An Innocent Man'
There are no innocent men on Scandal. Or women. Many of the characters like to claim they wear “white hats” and have high opinions of their own moralities, but we see each and every one of them commit atrocious acts in the name of getting their way. “An Innocent Man” plays on that duality between characters that want to do good things but are constantly lured into hurting people. In four seasons, most of these characters have yet to grasp that, but they’re finally starting. A few characters began to step out of their “good person” mode and towards the first strong character development in a...

October 31st, 2014 9:20am EDT
'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6: Why Did Damon Return Without Bon
The Vampire Diaries season 6 started off with the adorable and intriguing pairing of Bonnie and Damon. Their bickering has been the highlight of this season-so far. Last night's episode ripped our duo apart. One had to stay with the devilishly charming, but totally psychotic, Kai. The other got to return home on The Vampire Diaries season 6. We'll give you one guess to get it right. Hint: the one that always sacrifices themself did it again.

Sadie Calvano Talks 'Mom' Season 2, Family And Charity
CBS's Mom - a 2014 People's Choice Award Favorite New TV Comedy nominee - is back for its second season tonight, continuing the dysfunctional but well-meaning escapades of the Plunkett family. We recently caught up with Sadie Calvano, who plays Christy's (Anna Faris) daughter Violet, to ask her what laughs and lessons are coming in season two.

The new episodes don't pick up immediately after last season's surprisingly touching finale. "We ended last season with Violet giving away her baby," she explained. "In season two, you see Violet dealing with the ramifications of that decision. She's...

'The Middle' Season 6, Episode 5 Review: The Weirdest Halloween Yet

October 30th, 2014 10:12am EDT
The Middle
As a sixth season sitcom with a comfortable timeslot, “The Middle” could very easily coast along on doing the same thing over and over. But that is not this show’s m.o. It is allergic to change, and its viewers are better off for its commitment to character development. The important things about “The Middle” stay the same: each Halloween episode is simply named “Halloween” and then “Halloween II” and now “Halloween V”; and holiday episodes continue to be its forte. But the specific elements that make each holiday episode so great are new and exciting each time.

Brick displayed a sudde...

'Arrow' Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: 10 Shocking Moments from 'The Magician'

October 30th, 2014 9:19am EDT
Arrow - The CW
Who would have thought that killing off a major character on "Arrow" would have these kinds of repercussions?

We lost Sara Lance to a hail of arrow-fire in the season premiere, and since then things have only been getting more intense. By our fourth episode, last night's "The Magician," Oliver & co haven't gotten any closer to actually finding Sara's killer (we've learned it might be Merlyn, but probably not and probably Ra's al Ghul).

It's not a lot. But hey, we've still got nearly a full season to get through, so presumably there's more to learn in the weeks ahead. And besides, "The Ma...

'American Horror Story Freak Show' Rundown On 'Edward Mordrake P
In just one episode, American Horror Story: Freak Show may have solved most of its biggest problems. The show still has about 5 characters too many to focus on and tends towards shock value over proper plot, but it took a few strides forward in the culmination of the Edward Mordrake saga. Thankfully, the season is finally starting to pull together the pieces of the puzzle, instead of letting characters and plot lines wander all over. Plus no musical number, thank God.

Here’s a rundown on “Edward Mordrake Part 2:”

New Characters to Remember

None. Could the show finally be focusing on the ...

'Supernatural' 10.4 Recap: Family Affair

October 29th, 2014 11:09am EDT
Supernatural
Though “Supernatural” premiered nearly a month ago, Tuesday’s episode felt like the true beginning of the season. “Paper Moon” marked the return of the pristine Impala, the return of the monsters, the return of a familiar face from season 9 and most importantly, the return of the brothers.

Grab your sunglasses and let’s dive in, shall we?

The Case | The monster-of-the-week cases often work as emotional mirror, reflecting paralleling the Winchesters’ lives. This week’s case was about as subtle as a volcanic eruption. Last season in the voyeuristic “Bitten”—a found footage thematic epi...
