The second episode of any new show is a good measurement to determine the future direction and quality. It’s usually filmed months after the pilot, after excruciatingly long discussions about everything that did or didn’t work about the pilot. New characters are introduced, the series’ tone is set, and the plot inches forward.

J.K. Rowling has revealed to "Harry Potter" fans that the character of Dolores Umbridge was inspired by a schoolteacher she had a strong dislike for while growing up.

The author posted on her blog Thursday that Umbridge, played by actress Imelda Staunton and one of the most hated Potter characters in the series, was inspired by one of her teachers as a child -- one whose name she won't tell, though.

Amanda Bynes, who was involuntarily held at a psychiatric hospital in Pasadena, Calif., for over three weeks, has left the facility. On Thursday, the star's involuntary hold was terminated.

She was being held at Las Encinas Hospital where she was initially placed on a 72-hour hold on Oct. 10 over concerns for her behavior. The hold was later extended an additional 30 days; however, on Oct. 30 she was spotted walking on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles wearing big sunglasses and talking on a cell phone.

A Judge in Los Angeles ruled that a trial by jury will be needed to decide whether or not the artists sampled music from Gaye's hit song "Got To Give It Up" and infringing on its copyright.

The three stars attempted to dissuade District Judge John A. Kronstadt from moving forward with a trial, but it wasn't enough and a trial will now be scheduled.
