Panic! At The Disco Leads Albums To Check Out
2016 began quietly in the music world, with only a handful of new albums of note dropping the first two weeks of the year – Rachel Platten’s Wildfire (New Year’s Day) and David Bowie’s Blackstar (January 8). This week, the heat turns up a little bit more, with Panic! At The Disco leading the charge. It’s still not a ‘vintage’ release week, but there are certainly opportunities to expand the music collection.

1) Panic! At The Disco, Death Of A Bachelor (Fueled by Ramen)

Panic! At The Disco return with fifth studio album Death Of A Bachelor. Interestingly, frontman Brendon Urie is the onl...

Guess What Adele Did Again This Week?

1/12/2016 9:24am EST
Adele Tops Billboard 200 For Seventh Straight Week
Nothing has changed on the Billboard 200 – SHOCKER! The Queen – Adele – spends her seventh straight week at number one with her juggernaut album 25. The numbers are dwindling, but even so, moving 194,000 units (about 85% of those pure sales) in the dead of January is certainly impressive. Interestingly, Justin Bieber’s Purpose also saw six-figures worth of impact (124,000 units), though only 44% of those total were pure sales! So if you do the math, Adele is still “killing it.”

Justin Bieber hasn’t been able to beat Adele on the albums chart, but on the Billboard Hot 100, he has done the...

New Music Releases To Check Out This Week

1/5/2016 11:00am EST
David Bowie performing live in Tin Machine at Brixton Academy Lo
Ah, a new year – 2016 is upon us! Furthermore, it’s January and you know what that means? Typically things start off slow in the music business in January (and everywhere else for that matter). The same can be said of 2016, though give Rachel Platten credit for releasing her Wildfire, her major label debut, on New Year’s Day. This week the main attraction is from a rock veteran – David Bowie. Otherwise, it’s a slow week for the biz as to be expected.

1) David Bowie, Blackstar (Columbia)

After returning in 2013 (The Next Day) following a ten-year hiatus, David Bowie’s hiatus between alb...

Six Weeks And Counting For Adele

1/5/2016 9:21am EST
Adele
After six weeks it will come as no surprise to anybody that Adele once more rules the Billboard 200 with 25. Of course not – she’s a beast! Adele’s ‘beastly’ presence on the Billboard 200 allows for 25 to move another 363,000 units. Yeah, it’s her smallest week to date, but the robust sales of the fourth quarter in general are over, and this particular week accounted for the week right after Christmas – who buys albums then? Almost nobody! For anybody else, 363,000 units would be "victory lap" worthy!

It also shouldn’t surprise anyone that Adele’s dominance continues for a 10th consecutiv...

Adele Makes It Five In A Row

Adele Sells Another Million, Makes It Five Weeks At No. 1
Just know, it’s Adele – period. Adele’s 25 spends its fifth straight week atop the Billboard 200. What’s most impressive about week five is that it marks the third nonconsecutive week that 25 has sold one million copies or more. This week, 25 sold 1.16 million copies, Adele’s second best week after selling 3.38 million in week one. Billboard goes on to say that with tracks thrown into the equation, the overall impact of 25 this week was 1.19 million units. Basically, Adele is dominating the world. Queen her!

But it wasn’t all Adele. Chris Brown’s latest album Royalty debuts at #3 with a ...

R. Kelly Walks Out Of Interview After Sexual Assault Questions

12/22/2015 11:11am EST
R. Kelly Doesn’t Seem To Be In The Holiday Spirit, Storms Off 'H
R. Kelly has lost his mind, or whatever semblance of a mind he had. In one of the year’s craziest interviews, R. Kelly basically acted liked a complete fool – that might be an understatement. Kelly seemed to take offense to “negativity” within interview questions at a recent HuffPost Live interview, and proceeded to disrespect host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. Kelly talked down to her, going on a tangent about depositions, getting drunk, and basically complete nonsense. So the question is why did R. Kelly act so unprofessionally in an interview? Why did he waste an opportunity to change pub...

Adele's '25' Continues To Sell Like Hot Cakes

12/22/2015 9:31am EST
Adele Spends Fourth Week Atop The Billboard 200
In news that should shock no one, the unstoppable, invincible Adele spends her fourth week atop the Billboard 200. 25 is “selling like hotcakes” – maybe even better than that! After padding her already robust totals with another 695,000 units last week, sales and impact improve to 825,000 units, with 96% of that total being album sales! Simply put, Adele is killing it, sitting just shy of six million copies in one month of availability. Records are being broken peeps!

Staying on the Adele train, let's shift to the Billboard Hot 100. Guess who’s got number one locked down there? Yep, you g...
