Well, well, well! Big Sean finally had a big debut – contextually speaking. The Detroit rapper’s third album, Dark Sky Paradise debuts at number one following two previous top three albums. Not only did Dark Sky Paradise debut higher than his previous work, it also sold considerably more, moving 139,000 copies. With ‘total impact’ playing a total role, Sean’s numbers are more robust – the tune of 173,000. Is 2015 the year that Big Sean finally does big things?

The ‘dragons’ no longer have to ‘imagine’ anything. Nope! In other words, Imagine Dragons scored this week, debuting atop the Billboard 200. Smoke + Mirrors not only impacted well overall (195,000 units), but also managed robust sales – 172,000 copies. Yes the Billboard 200 is putting more emphasis on the ‘total package’ or the 195K number cited first, but with albums selling so poorly, selling 172,000 copies itself is notable achievement.
