Disney's 'Descendants' Soundtrack Takes Top Honors On The Billbo
Let’s just cut right to the chase – it was a BAD week for album sales. Honestly, record companies should NEVER let a week like this happen again. Unless you’re a total Disney TV movie fanatic, this week’s number one album will totally surprise because of its unfamiliarity. The soundtrack to the Disney TV movie Descendants takes the top honors on the Billboard 200. Go ahead and let the gasping commence...

Even though Descendants managed to “score” where peak position is concerned, its impact and sales are tepid to say the least. Descendants mustered up just 42,000 units and that doesn...

In Memory Of Roddy Piper – Forgotten Flick 'They Live'
As most of you know the iconic performer of both the big and small screen ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper passed away recently. And while he was known to most through his groundbreaking work with the WWF and the wrestling world as a whole sparring with the likes of nemesis Hulk Hogan, to us cinephiles Piper will always be associated with a single glorious work of movie art. A flick so memorable (quotable lines fly like bullets!), so sensational (how about a five and a half minute fight sequence to end all others!) and so thought provoking (the slogan ‘Obey’ that you see on every hat and T-shirt start...

Jill Scott’s 'Woman' Is A Triumph For R&B

Jill Scott Makes It Two Consecutive No. 1 Albums On Billboard
R&B has triumphed atop the Billboard 200 for the second time this year! Is it a total change of pace for commercially ailing genre? Jill Scott follows her first #1 album, 2011’s Light Of The Sun with a second one with Woman. Woman didn’t match the higher-flying sales of Light Of The Sun, but Scott’s first album in four years certainly has performed better than most of her contemporaries’ R&B efforts. 62,000 units is by no means “the second coming,” but it’s respectable considering the number of albums that have tanked this year (yeah you Jamie Foxx and Ciara).

Jill Scott wasn’t the sol...

Forgotten Friday Flick - 'The Machinist'

A taunt little thriller about a guy who can’t seem to get his life on track and yearns to understand why, this fabulous flick features not only stark staging, but also a captivati...
