The 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Soundtrack Leads Albums To Check Out
The yield of new, show stopping albums in February 2015 is a bit slow as of yet. While there were a few notable releases last week, none of them were the ‘second coming’ to the music world. This week isn’t much different, finding that fiery new release to be hard to come by. Next week is when things ignite more, but one truly notable effort arrives this week, via the Fifty Shades of Grey original motion picture soundtrack.

1) Various Artists, Fifty Shades of Grey (Motown / Universal)

With the release of one of the more sensuous, controversial, and anticipated movies in recent memor...

Taylor Swift Makes It 10 Weeks On Top Of The Charts
Did you miss her at the top of the charts? Well, no need to worry as Taylor Swift returns to her perch atop the Billboard 200. 1989 is on its 10th week in the driver’s seat – nonconsecutive of course. Swift returns after Meghan Trainor and Fall Out Boy killed her vibe, keeping her in the bridesmaid spot otherwise known as second place. Apparently, Smith’s extended stay upon the Billboard 200 is “kind of a big deal.” Swift just won’t stop. Still when the sales of 1989 are considered outside of the streams used to compile the chart, well, Swift sold modestly – 71,000 copies.

If Tayl...

Well let’s not jump to conclusions or get too excited, but February 2015 begins with some excellent musical choices to check out, led by veteran rock singer/songwriter Bob Dylan. He’s not alone, as he’s in good company with girl group Fifth Harmony, rapper Kid Ink, jazz vet Diana Krall, and a compilation of pop’s biggest hits in the latest installment of the Now...

Fall Out Boy Tops The Billboard 200: This Week In Music

January 29th, 2015 10:44am EST
Fall Out Boy
As unbelievable as it may be, for a second straight week, Taylor Swift is NOT sitting at number one. That statement is enough for all to utter a collective gasp of shock. Swift’s slippage is definitely Fall Out Boy’s gain, as the uniquely titled American Beauty/American Psycho scores FOB another number one album.

Fall Out Boy were previously in the penthouse for Infinity On High (2007) and Save Rock and Roll (2013). In sales alone, American Beauty/American Psycho outperformed their previous effort, delivering more robust January sales totals to the tune of 192,000 copies. Wonder wha...

Ne-Yo Leads Albums To Check Out: This Week in Music
January 2015 has been a ‘louder’ musical month than anticipated. Music listeners have been bestowed more audio gifts than an usually available, so give a slow music industry credit. Hey, what would January 2K15 be without the “No Flex Zone” of hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd (Sremmlife), the “Uptown Funk” of Mark Ronson (Uptown Special), or “Lips Are Movin” courtesy of Meghan Trainor? Think about it!

This week isn’t nearly as dynamic as last week, but that doesn’t mean there are no interesting or notable albums to partake of. In a ‘slower’ week than last, R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is definit...

Kathy Griffin Failing As Host Of 'Fashion Police': Comedienne Kathy Griffin was brought on to replace the late Joan Rivers as host of the E! fashion commentary show, "Fashion Police." But has the funny lady taken on more than she can handle? Rumor has it that ratings are down and Griffin's nasty brand of humor isn't translating well with viewers.
